SOIORS . . . . ' The Wheels That Kept Us Rolling ' DIARY It was a proud and happy group of green horns that Septem- ber morning when 48 students officially became highschoolers at last. Whenwe finally all became acquainted with each other, we elected Hugh Reynolds, president; Tommy Tompkins, vice president; Retha Fischer, secretary; Barbara Klinger, treas- urer. We were glad to have Mr. Robert Miller as our sponsor. During the year we had two parties. Margaret Parr of Angola became a member of our class, Whenwe were Sophomores we again were fortunate to have Mr. Miller as our sponsor. This year there were only 42 of us as we lost Maxine and Irene Barker, John Clevenger, Barbara Klinger, Doris Marti, Carolyn and Phyllis King, Russell Frey, and gained DorthaRimmel. Floyd Butler was elected president, ably assisted by Forrest Parks, vice president; Dortha Rim- mel, secretary; and Ruth Uhl, treasurer. Representatives showed us rings and sweaters. We decided on Stardust rings and black sweaters with gold letters which were also to be our class colors. We had a party each semester; the last one in- cluded seeing the show, The Jolson Story , at Kendallville. In our Junior year, 40 students, eager to build their char- acter, again returned. We regretfully lost Mr. Miller as our sponsor, butgainedMrs.Sisson. This year we lost Helen Con- rad and Agnes Herron, but gained Betty Horstman, Bob Crace, Sam Shank, and Katy Harter.
