With a view in mind to publish the best school paper, we made many changes in the paper at the beginning of this year. A new heading was designed by Mike Walt. Folded paper and the blocked type were other changes that were made. The paper made it a policy to support and advertise all school activities — basketball games, sale of the Panther, school plays, etc. In an effort to make it an all-around school newspaper, some of our clever writers wrote human-interest and feature stories to enliven the paper. One of the members of the staff took the pen name of Elaine Auburn and wrote an entertaining feature on redheads. The joke column this year concerned amusing things that had happened to the students here in school. At the beginning of the year the class elected Maxine DeHoff editor-in- chief. Mike Walt has served as art editor and sports editor. Ruth Whonsetler became joke editor and James Ross exchange editor. Reporters were Mary Jane Crothers, Kathleen Walt, Lois Huelsenbeck, Catherine Huff, Betty Schaefer, and Dolores Stonestreet. The sponsor of the paper was Miss DeHoff.
