Promoting spirit in our school and closer unity between schools this year was the purpose ot this year's Drill Team. The Drill Team was seen this past year during half-time programs at home football games, They also performed at parades, rallies and at special events. Leading the Drill Team was Captain Judith McGuireg lst lieutenant, Claire Cardozag and 2nd lieutenant, Ruth Steinmetz. This hard working group practiced at an aver- age of fourteen hours per week for perform- ances at football games and twenty-eight to thirty long hours for participating in parades and other special events. WHEELS All of those girls you saw after school every Wednesday night in gym clothes were not taking seventh period gym' They were the three hundred girls in the ever famous growing Aviation Girls Athletic Association This year GAA walked away with the annual track meet held here each Novem ber. They also participated in volleyball basketball and softball tournaments. GAA provides service to the school by running the football booth concessions stand ushering at school events and as- sisting with school events such as the Pan- cake Breakfast and the Rummage sale. The girls interested in a wholesome after school recreational program are the members of this organization. lt provides an opportunity for the gifted performer to compete against others and establishes a feeling of pride in the group plus loyalty to the school, In addition GAA sponsors suitable social activities for members and provides opportunity for leadership train- ing, and recognition of outstanding achievement. At the luau, which completes the GAA season, two trophies are awarded, one for the 'Outstanding Player and one for the Outstanding GAA Member. ' NORTH REDONDO PHARMARCY l8l2 REDONDO BEACH BLVD.
