Lieut. Col. John H. Glenn, Jr. is the first American to orbit the earth. . .your excitement at the arrival of your class rings. . .the hanging of Adolph Eichmann. . .Your Junior year, 1962-1963: Sonny Liston wins the world ' s heavyweight boxing championship. . .Commander W. M. Schirra orbits the earth six times. . .the weeks of tedious, demanding, yet satisfying practices that pre- ceded the successful production of Our Town, a play hailed by students and townspeople as the cultural triumph of the year. . .the Cuban crisis. . .the first United States relay satellite launched. . .the patient work of previous months and the frenzied decoration and care of last-minute details that climaxed in the different, alluring prom, known by the title, Passport to Paradise . . .Your Senior year, 1963-1964: the shocking, senseless assassination of President John F. Kennedy. . . the Winter Olympics. . . the Senior Silver Dollar Dance, filled with a Justice of the Peace, a bar, and a jail. . .the hectic rehearsals that led up to The Mouse That Roared, a hilarious political satire. . .the fun of ditch day. . . commencement. . .the proud, nostalgic day of graduation. . .
