In December, 1964, the Avella Dis- trict J ointure School Board voted in favor of Advanced Establishment of the Avella Area School District. Under this organi- zation the four member districts--Cross Creek Township, Hopewell Township, ln- dependence, and West Middletown Borough --became a single merged district. The nine member interim operating committee selected at the December meeting became the school board for the area July l, 1965. The members of the board are as follows: Mr. John Hunter . . .... Treasurer Mr. Frank Brownlee Mr. Kenneth Craft Mrs. Edith Cecchini Mr. Joseph Gagich Mr. Robert Perrin The Avella Area School Board is to be commended for its untiring efforts to further the educational opportunities for the children of the area.
