It is the hope of the staff that this book will bring to you fond memories of past events as you turn its pages. As the Class of '66 takes its place in the World, the Eagle '66 offers some rembrances of the time the class has spent preparing for the future. In years to come these pages should provide a link to the past. In closing, we hope you get as much enjoyment looking at the '66 yearbook as we did in preparing it. Sincerely, Mary Ann Robison Donna Romanetti John Taggart DEDI CA TI UN V . . Mrs. Miller has devoted most of her teaching career to Avella Area Schools. She has guided us through the years. We first met Mrs. Miller in seventh grade, and since that time we have grown to know and respect her. She has watched us grow from frightened seventh graders into frightened Seniors. Under her guidance our Junior Play was a success. She has helpedtornake ourfootballandbasketballgames more enjoy- able by 'her work in the' refreshment stand. We will remember her in the years to come for the as- sistance and advice she has given us during our school years. YEARBOOK EDITORIAL STAFF P. Gentile, C. An on, D. Romanecti, B. Coulter, L. Lis. DEAR CLASS OF 1966: Parting is such sweet sorrow . Many thoughts pass through my mind as cherished memories of happy boys and girls, now 1, young ladies and gentlemen, linger. Young and eager, with the look of anticipation, and sometimes fear on your faces, you grew and developed physically, mentally, and spir- itually until now you are ready to graduate and leave us. How well you are able to benefit from the many opportunities offered, probably will determine how well you succeed in reaching your life's goals. May you have faith in your selves and others, hope for a bright and better tomor- row, and love for your fellow man. Earl C. Lunger Supervising Principal MR. EARL C. LUNGER CHIEF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR l a MRS. SERAFINA WHITCO SECRETARY TO MR. LUNGER MR. RAYMOND FIORONI HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL .g MISS JANET ZEBRASKY SECRETARY TO MR. FIORONI If TO Tl-IE CLASS OF 1966: By now you have come to realize that maximum development of the potential you possess through the privilege of public edu- cation, extends beyond a right to an obliga- tion to the great society of which you are an integral part and owe so much. And as you have learned, our way of life will be per- petuated only as long as those enduring it continue to develop their potential and deploy it in the service of mankind. So as you proceed on the next lap of life do not look to the past in regret of obligations unmet or accomplishment partially fulfilled, but as a standard for meeting future obliga- tions and the accomplishments of new goals. For it is in this manner we are able to bear up under moments of human weaknesses and mistakes made and go on to fulfillments be- yond our greatest expectation. As you use these lessons of the past as a source of wisdom for that which lies ahead, I wish you all the best of luck and success in whatever fields of endeavor you dare to tread. The class will long remem- ber him as one of the finest students of our school. Henry participated in many activities and he was a very good student as well, his favorite subjects being those which dealt with science. He had high ambitions for the future. Henry was a friendly person with a warm smile and a casual Hi for everyone. He could make more friends in a week than many could make in a month. He loved lifeg he loved people, disliking only those who would harm others. He liked people for what they were, not for what someone tried to make them be. Whenever there was work to be done, Henry was always willing to volunteer. He shrugged off hard work as if it were a mere nothing. If everyone were more like Henry Pacyna, there would be a much differ- ent outlook for the future. 139 I, . ply '- 5 IJ-M' WW f10U'9Q W lLfQN NAALQL5 ! .yfalfrj A ,P l jg U f .M ff I 1 I , L Q 6 410W 'VW 4 'X f z I' JV Ji!
