T e l950 After a late start the Eagleis hit mid-season form by troune- ing Claysville, Hickory, and East VVashington. Following these triumphs was a hard fought defeat by Midway and a muddy set- back by a strong McDonald team. A special tribute is due our seniors. NVe feel certain the cour- age and spirit displayed by them on the gridiron will greatly en- hance their careers in life. Through football, the 507i squad has been a credit to Avella High. With regret we bid farewell to uROI1lli6,,, Skinner,', Willief, jim, 'iNiert, i'Dayef' '6Andy,U and .Ed-,, Martin Flannery, the new Coachx of the Ayella Eagles, who took over the job after Coach Menoher resigned to enter private business, should be congratulated for his splendid job. Consid- ering the size of the squad and the tough schedule that the Avella Eagles had, he kept his boys in good spirit and in fine shape. The boys who will represent Avella High on the gridiron in 52,' will be expected to carry on the fighting spirit of dear old Avella High in future years. XVe know that they will not dis- appoint us. So hats off to Martin Flannery and the Avella Eagles.
