CLASS PHUPHECY Let us gaze into the crystal ball of the future and visualize the destiny of the class of '43. It is the year l953 and many ot the members have already established a place in the world for themselves. Why there's Paul Pritchard, radio announcer for Boyer's Headache Tab- lets, introducing Paul Hood and Charles Foster, those would--be comedians of the air who are rivaling Abbott and Costello. Well, well, will wonders never cease? Richard Volpe has just been awarded the Nobel Prize for his masterpiece, The Evil That Men Do, by the President of the Literary Club of America, Ethel Arn, and her assistants, Mildred Lowry, Marion Wehr, and Marjorie Herschel. lane Riebe and Mildred Grubiss have at last realized their ambition to see the world. They are at present on the Kincaid and Perkins Luxury Liner in the South Seas which is under the command of Captain Bill Clark and first mate, Edward Mitchell. Dick Betts has finally sold his Ford to Howard Gross and bought a later model from Straley's Automobile Agency. This model is guaranteed to go forty miles per hour down- hill-if a good stiff wind is blowing. Flash! Evelyn Marinelli and Betty Nelson have just been announced the winners of the National Iitterbug Contest. They were chosen by Iudges Don Kotouc, Dale Hann, Bill Fitch, Ken Lloyd, and Norman Leonard. Mary lane Schulz and Betty Roth are both nurses at the Davis and Buechler Hospital where Dr. Bokesch has just completed a minor operation on Ruth Beveridge. The patient is being visited by Eleanor Ponick, Ioanna Casadidio, and Lois Bowman. Now we find Charles Thomas, winnah of the Golden Glove Tournament in Cleveland. In the crowd of spectators we spy Harry Fitz- gerald, the fight promoter of the time. Ah! Now the crystal ball reveals a sight in which We see Mathilda Raidel working as a supervisor in the DeCamp-DeHoff Plastic Factory. Three of our brides-to-be, Shirley Boyd, Virginia Crooks, and Kathryn Hollingshead, are happily married. Suddenly the crystal ball dirns-but waitl There's Sally Iones, Director of National Musical Symphony sponsored by Sikora and Smith Musical Department. The feature stars are Norma Iones and Mary Woodside. Why there's lean Osborne, Eileen Smith, Eleanor Featheringham, and Betty Mills in the choir. And Helen Amendolea and Dorothy Schrom- ofsky are violinists in the orchestra. Again our crystal ball becomes blurred and this time leaves us with but memories of the past. -William F. Taylor, Ir.
