Fourth Grade Third 011160 Second Grade Firgt Gradg GRADE NEWS School started on September 2, 1942 with average at tendance Our attended The in each room first vacation came on October lO when the teachers the Teachers' Convention at Lock Haven Institute annual Hallowe'en parties were held in all the grades with many gay costumes worn by the children A combined program was put on by the eight grades in the High School Assembly Room celebrating the Thanksgiving Season The Christmas Season was ushered in by the usual holiday parties in the various rooms The Upper Grades Citizenship Club held a combined party Our second program with each grade presenting a number was presented in February The theme was built around patriotism Many parents attended this program which was held in the High School Assembly on February 26 Spring vacation began on April 2 and lasted until the 8th Several sessions of school were eliminated due to Reg istration Days and sugar rationing The third combined assembly and Art display was held lay 21st in the High School Assembly All rooms were opened for the visiting parents. followed on October 50 and 51. .

GOOD CITIZENSHIP CLUB The Good Citizenship Club is made up of the upper four grades The aim of this club is to promote good manners throughout the grades The motto is 'Do one good deed each dav to show that you are a good citizen The officers of the club are Thomas lichienzi President, June Mclullen Recording Secretary Robert Cooney Rollcall Secretary V Gb 'fiat ,tx,NV.t1 fr Q R Eight Grade Seventh Grade Sixth Grade Fifth Grads YOUNG AMFRICA VICTORY CLUB The pupils of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are members of the Victory Club which is sponsored by YOUNG AMFRICA ' The officers are Elizabeth Sormani, President Clarke Larch Vice President and Jane McMullen, Secretary Treasurer The chairmen of the various com ittees are GIRLS' ACTIVITIES Doris Vanwhy and Jane Jeffers CIVILIAN DEFENSE Neil Shepard and Floyd Sharp MORALE - Louise Haupt and Jeannine Lerch FINANCE Pauline Riale and Bernadine Barnett AVIATION Robert Cooney and Edward Van Volkenburg PRODUCTION- - - Thomas lichienzi and Thomas Gehris The purpose of the club is to give the young boys and girls of our community an active part in the defense of our country and the chance to help attain victory. These are a few of their various activities: purchase of war stamps, collecting of waste material, planting victory gardens, build ing model airplanes, learning and applying civilian defense methods, and making posters. Money has been contributed to the McArthur Ambulance Fund and pins have been purchased by each member.
