ln January ot 1925 the Maroon and White divided into two publications. The newspaper phase began its separate career as the Austin Times: and the yearbook, retaining the original name, continued to be issued twice a year as a semi-annual until 1931. Since then it has come out only once a year. ln 1950 the first padded cover was ottered, but it was available only to seniors and was embossed with the owner's name in gold letters. The large 9 x 12 size book was a new feature ot 1951. Throughout the years there have been many changes in form, size, style, statt, and sponsors: but two things have remained constant for titty years-the name ot Maroon and White and the purpose, the interest ot Austin High School.
