VZ- Thls year Panther entertainment varied from student to student. Music tastes varied from New Wave Heavy Metal, Jams, to those who still loved Flock-n-Roll. Godzilla returned this year, and Sting showed his talent in The Bride. Some students still enjoyed the midnight movies, like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Wall, The Song Remains the Same, and Nightmare on Elm St. One form of student entertainment that never seems to die out was concerts. Students enjoyed local bands like Halo, Lynch, Drifter, and Banshee, while others enjoyed famous groups at the Col- iseum and the Pan Am. Live concerts could also be viewed on MTV. One of the biggest concerts this year was Live-Aid which brought groups back together once . l again like Led Zeppelin, the Who and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, and all for a good cause. Peoples' fashion usually sym- bolized the kind of music they lik- ed best. New Wave was a hit. You saw students with weird hair cuts and clothes you've never seen in a department store, walk- ing down the halls. Then there were the Heavy Metal heads that wore more belts than they need- ed, black leather pants, and con- cert shirts. The Jammers were each seen in Pumas or Adidas sueded, baggy pants, and they all walked the same. Students went to night clubs in Juarez like Sarawalk, Electric-Q, Twins, Alive, Cosmos, and Fred's Bar, while others enjoyed the ones here like the Forum, Starlight, Lost Iguana, and Sound Seas. This year was one we will never forget. lt was full of exciting peo- ple that made our lives full of laughter and happiness. This was the year of '86. Entertainment I 13
