ff The pw.. xx,,x... . 85-86 school year was not only a 5' 'X .sm ff? - . '1 r+--L year of fun and entertainment for some students, but one of hard work and responsibility as well. Approximately 1 350 students, 170A of the student body, ,S jg? worked and attended school. Many of my .f' - , 1 af these students worked through D.E.C.A., V.O.E.., and H.E.C.E., but many others found jobs independent- ly. These students attended school all day and then worked after school for a few hours, or they worked for a few hours during the weekends. Some of the students worked for the experience, while many others worked for the extra money that was needed to cover the expenses that they may have incurred during the year, or to save for college ex- penses, or for something they long desired, like a new car. Ji When asked why he worked, Eddie Reveles replied, I want money to buy a new car and the essentials of a teenager. Some of the students found, however, that working interfered with their social activities.
