The Student Council of Stephen F. Austin High School was organized to stimulate school spirit, to encourage and maintain participation in school activities, to further the spirit of cooperation between the faculty and student body, to provide training for democratic practices, and to assist each student in benefitting from his school career. The Student Council, consisting of two houses, the Upper House, or Student Commission and the Lower House, or the Club Panel, has both elected and appointed members. They must maintain a high academic standard and be recommended for the Council by members of the faculty.
