Many members have realized those expectations. They passed through the trying freshman year with credit to them- selves and to those guides Who piloted them so patiently over the rough spots of that first year. During the remaining years this class was represented by outstanding members in football, track, student government, and other school activities. Now that the members of this class have reached their senior year, they start anew either into continued education or into business, all of them realizing that the four years past have better fitted them for the future. lt is with this thought that the Senior class of Ianuary 1937 bids farewell to Austin High School and its faculty. By outfighting and 0 better quarterbacking, the Panthers held the Wildcats scoreless. 2 The final score was 18-U. YSLETA The Ysleta-Austin football game inaugurated night football on the Ysleta field. The Panthers, hoping to avenge the 0-0 tie which was last year's score, were out to scalp the Indians on B their own field. Bolling up twenty points to the Indians' nothing, U the Austinites took their third straight game. lg LAS CRUCES Y For the first time in four years, the Austin Panthers played the Las Cruces Bulldogs. The Austinites scored in all four periods M of play. The Panther team, holding the Bulldogs to a scoreless :- garne, showed that they were a serious threat to the other dis- L trict teams.
