JOKES He said he serenaded his girl who was on the 2nd floor and she threw him a rose but forgot to take it out of the pot. Fleas always know their children will go to the dogs. A farmer wanted to hire a hand to harvest his oats and told him he would have to get up at three in the morning. The hand asked: HA re they wild oats? The farmer said No , The hand said: 'gThen why do you have to sneak up to them in the middle of the night? . Why do women have no mustache? Answer: They talk all the roots out on the inside. A man was on a bridge fixing to jump into the river to drown himself and a po- liceman saw him and got to him before he jumped, and the man began to tell a hard luck story. His wife had died, he had gone bankrupt, his children were starving, and before he got through telling the policeman the rest of his hard luck, they both jumped into the river. A farmer with 27 children went to see a circus and asked the man at the side- show how much he would charge for his family to see the lion. The ticket sel- ler said: Are all these your children? Yes, replied the farmer. How much will you charge for me to bring the lion out to see your show? !J She knew her sweetheart was wearing an Easter tie because it had egg on it. A divorcee asked: Will there be any divorces granted in heaven? No, WHY? There will be no lawyers there to obtain them. One man said: A diamond wedding is when a couple have been married 75 years, a golden wedding is when they have been married 50 years and a silver wedding is when they have been married 25 years. His friend said: We had a wooden Wedding at my house last night. He replied: What is a wooden wed- ding? My daughter married a blockhead. The service station attendant gave the man free air and water, cleaned his wind- shield, checked his oil, and then the man asked the attendant to stick out his tongue so he could seal a letter he wanted to mail. A dairyman used a toothbrush on his cow's teeth and she gave dental cream. Two lrishmen sleeping together had their heads covered up to keep the mosquit- oes away. One peeped out and saw a lightning bug, and said, Pat, there's no use these mosquitoes are looking for us with a lantern. A man walking down the street had on a medal. A friend met him and said: What are you doing with that medal on? He replied: I am a hero, I saved a girl. How did you save a girl? Last night I had two girls and saved one of them for tonight. ' '

CUNCLUSIIIN Now that we come to the end of our Eaglette, although we've had a few difficulties and mix-ups, we've had a share of good times and we are sorry that the end is so near. Con- fidentially though, it's a relief to get this book in bed. Now it's up to you to throw back the cover and per use to your heart's content. In fifty years--although the book is worn, the pages dirty and the cover loose- you'l1 still enjoy reading the book to your grandchildren. EDITOR
