S ZNIOR C ,ASS ISTORY In the year of 1942 the following enrolled in the Freshman Class of Austin High School: Peggy Abner, Junior Barnett, Marilee Baxter, Doris Blankenbaker, Dorothy Blu.nt, Theodore Bryant, Charlotte Chamberlain, Billy Chilton, Billy Christie, Patsy Christie, Mary Clemmons, Evelyn Combs, Frank Coons, Bruce Crisp, Dale DeWitt, Anita Eve, Harold Eve, Kenneth Everitt, Barbara Fawbush, Norma Gardner, Marie Hays, Walter Hazelwood, Monty Higdon, Robert Jacobs, Pauline James, Richard Kinnet, Hazel Landis, Clyde Lewis, Billy Mason, Darlene Mills, Billy McClain, Lee Morgan, Charles Nicholson, Marie Payne, Eugene Perry, Harry Porter, Barbara Rippey, Marie Satterwhite, Charles Thompson, and Gerry Tacket. The next year only 26 of the original 40 came back to enroll in the Sophomore Class. Those who had quit school or had moved were: Theodore Bryant, Charlotte Chamberlain, Patsy Christie, Evelyn Combs, Bruce Crisp, Harold Eve, Walter Hazel- wood, Robert Jacobs, Pauline James, Richard Kinnet, Hazel Landis, Charles Nicholson, Charles Thompson, and Gerry Tacket. Our Junior year Junior Barnett, Marilee Baxter, Doris Blankenbaker, Billy Christie, Billy Mason, and Harry Porter had left us. Norma Blunk, Dora Chandler, Rellie Col- Well, and Curtis Trapp enrolled in our class. During this year Dora Chandler moved and Monty Higdon quit to join the service. We entered school as Seniors with two new students, Dorothy Gaffney and Zua Gordon, but two had moved, Peggy Abner, Norma Blunk, making a total of 21. Dorothy Blunt quit before the first semester. Marie Hays, Darlene Mills, Marie Payne, Bar- bara Rippey, and Marie Satterwhite graduated at the end of the first semester. The rest of us who remained the whole Senior year before graduating were Billy Chilton, Mary Clemmons, Rellie Colwell, Frank Coons, Dale DeWitt, Anita Eve, Kenneth Everitt Barbara Eawbush, Dorothy Gaffney, Norma Gardner, Zua Gordon, Clyde Lewis, Lee Morgan, Eugene Perry, and Curtis Trapp. Peggy Abner completed her course at Howe High School in Indianapolis, but had her credits transferred back to Austin.
