AHS. starts off with a bang! Nervous sophomores and bewildered parents desperately try to find their way to Widely separated classrooms. The schedule is interrupted by Hurricane Carla and the students get a holiday because of high winds and torrents of rain; students volunteer to give the morning devotional before the classes begin for the day; pep rallies and week end games color the weekst activities. $4 Geotgann Evans, Nancy McCullough, and John Rowlett catch their breath during half-time after yelling vigor- ously for the Maroons during the first half of the Jones of Houston game. The Maroon must go to press even if Hurricane Carla did inter- rupt the school schedule. Staffers Elizabeth Whitlow, David Red Dragons Terry Clarkson, Linda Rosprim and Jay Mumma Stautz, and Janet Christian read proofs with Mr. W. T. Hays, SCYUb diligently for points.
