Wei? Memories of Austin High will linger long after this year is completed. Sophomores will never forget their Hrst exciting year in high school. juniors will remember being the middle man, and the last year was one of fun and hard work for the '59 graduating seniors. We shall remem- ber all these things and more. One of the most outstanding events of the year was the all-school pep rally held between the annex and the main building during the fifth period the day of the Austin-Temple football game. This game brought increased spirit to Austin High. Even though we lost the game, Austin Highers were commended for their good sportsmanship then and later bv being awarded the Lions' Club Sportsmanship Trophy. The election of the spring semester Student Council oflicers will always be remembered by its vigorous campaigns. Many people partic- ipated. working for the election of their favorite candidates for president and vice-president. The voting resulted in the election of Price Daniel, Ir., as president and IoAnna Murray as vice-presi- dent. A face-lifting treatment was given our 35-year- old school building and the smell of paint be- came familiar to all. Car pools were verv important in the lives of many of Austin Higlfs students. Friendships formed by these car pools will long remain in the minds of students. ff' A f K' sf is s ,N ' ' it M44 . Pa ' -n'fr I Q v ,Qt for ' ff? :nu .JV-,,p.,.i f nw' tl! !
