HOWDY VVEEK is climaxed by the big dance in the gym, where joe Green- hill and Susie Snowden are announced friendliest of Austin High. THE KNIGHTS, composed of Les Meeks, Dave Baylor, -Allen Childs, Dean Hester, and joe Latting Cnot picturedl entertain for the dance. T1 it 1 Jfaadq Week ' '7e Howdy was the good word to SFA'ers during the week of September 28-October 3. Signing of Howdy books and wearing name tags made it a week of bustling activity and excitement. At the end of the week, we elected the friendliest boy and girl from the entire student body. Their names were announced by Mr. Anderson at the big Howdy Dance Friday night, and they were awarded indentification bracelets. Nominees for friendliest boy were Joe Greenhill, Rob- ert Frias, joe Hart, Frank Bertram, and Rox Covert. Friendliest girl nominees were Susie Snowden, Genny Rodgers, Dina Eitelman, Meta Butler, and IoAnna Mur- ray. From these students, Susie Snowden and joe Green- hill were chosen friendliest of SFA. Providing entertainment for the dance was a singing group called the Shades, which included Sandy Ewell, Patty Campbell, and Charlotte VVhite. Appearing, also, were the Knights-a group of SFA,ers composed of Joe Latting, Dean Hester, Allen Childs, Dave Baylor, and Les Meeks. 18

P, Another part of homecoming week was the ' crowning of 11 Homecoming Queen.
