Counselors Agnor, Bumes, and Whitaker Even though he was chief dispenser of capitallpunishment for the troublesome stu- dents in school, a session with Mr. Wittner did not always mean hours in the ofling. Often a lecture from him would procure the desired result. No, he was not at all the cool, cruel monster certain of the lower element like to paint him. Benevolence to some, sternness to others, was the calibre of that man, Wittnerf' 'Does John love Mary? . . . Does Mary love John? . . .
