To it will fall the task of renewing and strengthening commercial institu- tions--the trade and industry that have been halted by the war. The industrial department of Austin High School, the first in the state of Texas, has long realized the importance of mechan- ical skill, which adds agility to the mind and deftness to the hands. lt is helping to train future citizens for the tasks of recon- struction. These will not be merely fine arts , they will have-their commercial and social values, greater than ever. The radio has opened a new field for speech, for drama, for music. The radio alone can effectively reveal nation to nation--people to people. ln the tumultuous postwar World, it would be wise to use all means to create among nations a beautiful and lasting understandina.
