During the past school year, the AHS faculty and administration have been preparing for the forth- coming North Central Evaluation of this school. Although the definite dates for the school's evaluation by a North Central Committee have not yet been announced, the study will be held sometime next fall. This NCEC is composed of 35 people who are involved in teaching and administration. These men and women have studied various other schools and have determined what standards should be met in regulat- ing a school of AHS's physical size and potential. On the basis of two visits to each AHS classroom, the committee will determine the present needs ofthe school. After the committee gathers and analyzes all material, the school will be constructively criticized for its educational effortsg if approved, the school retains its accredited sta- tus in the association. Many services were performed by the counselors, library, nurse and Audio-visual Department. Helping the seniors make future plans and planning the yearly sched- ule for each student were the main concerns ofthe guidance counselors. Mrs. Beatrice Witt, the high school nurse, treated many everyday ailments from which the students of AHS suffered. The library was a recipient of the Title II Federal Fund, which enabled it to enlarge the fiction and biogra- phy sections. Gordon Fogdall supervised the many audio-visual aids.
