--gs - -.1-..,l ESCORTS FOR THE HOMECOMING ROYALTY this year were Myles Asper, Richard Gaurghan, Robert lillquist, Ronald Carothers, and Sheldon Hess. Royalty Reigns During Homecoming When autumn leaves began to fall, the students of Austin High eagerly looked forward to Homecom- ing and its many traditions. Homecoming brought with it an air of excitement which began weeks be- fore the big day arrived and prevailed all through the various events, from the snake dance and bon- fire to the football game ancl mixer. Intrigue and suspense surrounded the corona- tion ceremony this year as each candidate for queen was presented with a box containing ci corsage. Four boxes contained identical corsages, but the fifth box revealed the queen to be Sandra Ander- son. Smiling through tears of ioy, Sandra was crowned Homecoming Queen for l957. Queen Sandra and her equally charming at- tendants claimed the spotlight while the High School Chorus paid their homage by singing Austin High Gives Hail to Thee. The traditional solo, The Sweetheart of Austin High, was sung by David Toresdahl. Students Concoct Homecoming Recipe Take a snake dance-odd to it a fire. Let brew overnight. Then add a side-splitting assembly for spice and a beautiful and inspiring Coronation ceremony for sweetness. Flavor with a parade, a mixer, and a hard-fought football game. What do you get?
