This building has been on the agenda for some time and was finally made ready for use in the fall of 1954. Hundreds of students who range in interests from farm courses to mer- chandizing and music are already reaping the benefits of this outstanding plan. The classes, however, do not stop at 3:08-many a light is seen burning as the adults of the area take over in the evening for various types of night schooling. Certain inovations which came as a result of this addition were the underground Walk, via the tunnel, the display window which exhibits the skills of the merchandizing class. and the transfering of all music groups to the new quarters. We, the Austin student body, can feel very proud of this new addition to an already out- standing school program which is a symbol of Austin's growing desire to see the youth of the area obtain the ultimate in education.

The spirit of homecoming could not be stilled as tales of the last nightys escapades, the continual buzz of girls trying to choose clothes, and the determined looks which said that this was the game reigned supreme in the hearts and minds of all. Worli excuses provide practical experience l.:lri'y I't-ls-rsmi, .loycv lflllllll At Work and In School Just wait till you,re a senior! You'l1 be a real wheel thenl' How often we hear these words and how eagerly we anticipate them. Then at last we are seniors, and there comes the sobering thought that our high school activities will soon end. Each of us will walk our separate path into the futureg but which path shall we choose-college or work? Some seem always to have known exactly what they will do and a few others will ad- vance from their on-the-job training to full time employment. But the greater majority of us must weigh the advantages and disad- vantages of college or a job. If we favor college life, we must consider Whether our budget can stand the financial strain or pon- der what course we should pursue. Should the work-a-day world be our choice, the questions-what kind of job, what chances for advancement, and how adequate is the salary-arise and must be answered. Yes, our senior year is wonderfulg but with it come some of our most important de- cisions and our first real encounter with the future. bewildering yet inviting. 1 1 L Students work and earn together l':1I Nelson, liouvr' lQlllllS1lII Nlany colleges hem-kon-whcrc shall l go? .Indy llvmlll-1' . ss 'ra K . 4 1 .a 'L 11
