Busy Helpers Work Do you say thanks often enough to the busy helpers who run Austin High School so capably? As you dash to the cafeteria to make sure you are not the last one in line, or fly out of the door at 3:19 to catch your bus home, stop to think of all of the people who serve you untiringly in a var- iety of Ways. When you are upset over that pair of shell-rimmed glasses you lost, your first thought is, 'Tll ask the girls at the Lost and and Found. About two years ago the Driver's Train- ing course, to make teen-agers better driv- ers, was begun in our high school. Because of the school's efficient instructor and the wide range of training he gives, Austin's youth has become more skilled at driving, Unconsciously We associate teachers and students With the running of a school. Every bit as important to schol and its work is the trusty custodian Who Works late into the night giving our school its daily face-lifting. Cleaning up the classrooms and halls, oper- ating the floodlights for plays and repairing the school desks are just some of his innum- erable duties. With these indispensable service groups Austin High is a Working machine in itself. Some Work Is Like Pla As fall begins, the school bell rings to announce the opening of another school term. It is a welcome sound to us after three months of glorious fun. Everyone is eager to meet new friends, to talk with old ones, and to experience being a year older in high school. With our football games, the annual fall music concert, and class play, all draw- ing crowds, this season is very important.
