Dancers thrilled to the dreamy music of Dick Finch's orchestra. Although there was no special theme, the dance programs followed the idea of 'Halfway Through the Century, Austinian motif. The hours of preparation were well rewarded as the seniors were royally entertained by the juniors. The grand march, held in the middle of the evening was led by the class presidents and vice-presidents and their dates. After dancing and gaiety, the couples bid farewell to the chap- erones and continued on to the many snacks and parties planned for after the Prom. F ads Add Spice It is inevitable that every year we have new and different fads. These are often in the line of clothes, as was the case when shoulder bags and boots appeared. Boots are of many colors and styles and can be found almost anywhere among both boys and girls. In jewelry, medallions are seen around necks. Girls sport very short hair and we see the end of last year's peroxide slowly growing outi Our boys returned after Christmas with a new crop of novel shirts in a variety of colors and styles. The trend seems to be for the boys to dress up more. Jeans and sweatshirts are fewer. The favorite material for all is 'cord,' with girls wearing it in jumpers and weskits. Scarves worn around the neck were back again this year. Something new in our school this year was the departure of many of our boys to serve in the various bran- ches of the armed services.
