Our Royalty Reigns Homecoming brought With it an air of ex- citement, which began Weeks before the big day and prevailed all through various events from the traditional snake dance through the eagerly-awaited mixer. At the Coronation, the silence following the skit was broken by 'oohi and 'ah' as Mary Lou Regner, Phyllis Nagel, Helen Wheeler, Joan Nelson, and Dona Arnold entered in pastel formals. Queen Mary Lou was crown- ed at Homecoming by Dick Goslec, Student Council President. Chrysanthemum bouquets were presented to the royalty. Then it was parade time. As some floats and incidents make every year distinctive, this year's floats contained many live animals and a city fire truck was used. It seems that one of the winning floats didnlt have enough gas to finish the parade. Another float por- traying a miniature coronation was minus one small king as a result of a child's sudden shyness. Our parade followed a slightly dif- ferent pattern. Instead of the customary trip to the athletic field, the route took us down Main Street Where steady rain failed to quench our spirits.
