Some Work Is Like Pla As fall begins, the school bell rings to announce the opening of another school term. It is a welcome sound to us after three months of glorious fun. Everyone is eager to meet new friends, to talk with old ones, and to experience being a year older in high school. With our football games, the annual fall music concert, and class play, all draw- ing crowds, this season is very important. You can tell ni J9l'1'y'S old rm-oon 1-out which belongs to his I'allie1 s age that it was one ol' our coldest winters. Winter is filled with more than its share of things to do. Fans flock to cheer the wrestling and swimming teams, and who could forget to stand in line early for a good seat at the basketball games? Bunking par- ties, potluck suppers, and sleigh rides are typical of the many activities that keep us well occupied while winter howls its greet- ing to us during the shivering cold months. N83 Bus Riders Leave School bus driver Chris Schiek carefully checks students as they enter the bus to make sure none are left behind. Passengers ready for the daily ride home are Don Carpenter, Adeline Frondal, and Genevieve Chapek. Girls Sort Articles Getting a few laughs as they rummage through piles of clothes at the Lost and Found desk are Joann Orcutt, Beverly Nor- ris, and Petra Neilsen. Unusual things such as a single boot and service caps are found occasionally. Custodians Co-operate Judging from the grins on the faces of Mr. Charles Anderson and Mr. Edward Mithuen, they are enjoying their backstage job on class play night although they are never cast in any of the plays themselves. 5

Is Done gain, It's Just Work Watching the snow melt away and hearing the birds return from their winter vacation, most of us experience a dreamy feeling com- monly called spring fever. It is at this time that seniors begin to feel a pang of regret at leaving their alma mater and wish they were freshmen again. On the contrary, low- er class students are reminded that they will be upper classmen next year. When summer rolls around, that painful thought, Where can I get a job for the next three months? confronts many students. If you are too young to work downtown, may- be a babysitting job is what you are looking for. If, however, you are over sixteen, clerk- ing, playground supervision, and secretarial work offer opportunities to you. You can always use extra dollars.
