F' 'S Austin's Scl1ool Population Participates Austin High School students put their all into everything they do. All school functions are well attended. l.oyal souls uphold their athletic teams to the extent that they are willing to face rain or snow at football games, will sit in the scorching hot sun for hours at baseball games. and will stand in line indefinitely to get a good seat at basket- ball games. Five o'clock is none too early to get started to an Albert l.ea home basketball game. Mixers after the games are packed. but that makes them all the more fun. lce cream stores overfiow after any school activity. Some of the big events of the year are the homecoming assembly. parade. game. and dance: XV. P. A.: basketball tournaments: field day: and the ,juniorfsenior prom. Any school organization that is sponsoring a concert. play, or party can be sure that it will be a success because everyone comes whether he thinks he will like it or not. He usually likes it. At rare times when nothing is scheduled at the school, there are tobogganing and skating parties. Attstin has four theaters. a new bowlf ing alley, a large swimming pool. and many other recreational facilities. bit X .
