DEDICATION— It is with pleasure that we dedicate this, the 1946 Chromascope, to the ALUMNI and EX- STUDENTS of AUSTIN COLLEGE through their Association. In dedicating it to them, we are de- dicating it to all of the students of the past, pre- sent, and future for they are all Alumni or Ex- Students. The Chromascope was presented to Mr. E. Leon Foshee, the Executive Secretary of the Alumni and Ex-Students Association. It is large- ly through his untiring efforts that the Alumni and Ex-Students have been formed into a strong, hard working organization in furthering the cause of Austin College. It is to you, Alumni and Ex-Students of Aus- tin College, that we proudly dedicate the 1946 Chromascope with a thanks for all that you have done for Austin College in making it what it is today and what it hopes to be in the near future-

Our Campus, Yesterday, Today, and in the Future The New Administration Building Austin College, founded in 1849 at Huntsville by the Presbytery of Brazos, has come a long way since its founding. The College was moved to Sherman in 1876 and started life anew under the un- tiring efforts of her faculty and students. Austin College has passed through four great wars in her long history. In 1900 a great man came to Austin College to be its President. That man was Dr. Thos. Stone Clyce. Through his usceasing efforts and love for the College, the College has been able to go forward. There were just a few frame buildings and the administration building for a campus when Dr. Clyce arrived to take the Presi- dency. The campus has added Luckett Hall, the YMCA Building, Thompson Hall, the Powerhouse, Sherman Hall, and Cawthon Gym since that time. Today these buildings just mentioned make up the campus of Austin College with the exception of the ‘‘Skeleton”, which is rapidly being made into the new Administration Building. Austin College has great plans for the present day and for the future under the very able leadership of Dr. Guerrant as President. The plans of the future include the completion of the Administration Building, erection of a new girls’ dormitory, a Clock Tower in memory of those that died in service, and a new Fine Arts Building. With these as our goal, let us look ahead and work toward making AustinCollege even greater in the days to come than she has been in the past. Let us not let the great men who have worked so hard for Austin College down! !
