St Mary Assumption Cathedral Central Salesian St, Joseph De La Salle Cathedral Central Servite Salesian St. Joseph St. Thomas De La Salle Lourdes St. Florian St. Andrew Chadsey Highland Park During the regular season the Friar quintet defeated eleven teams while losing only once. They went undefeated through the Central Division, with eight straight vic- tories, playing only one close game, that with the fired up De La Salle Pilots. Austin surmounted an eleven point deficit in the last three minutes to win by a three point margin. In non-league competition the Friars won three and lost only one. The upset occurred when. Austin couldn't crack a tough Ser- vite defense. Some of the outstanding players on the team were Tom Stumb, Austin's All City guard, who also won All State honorable mention. Forward Dave De Busschere was also nominated for All State honorable mention. Guard Don Messing made the All Catholic second team. Center Kip Anderson and forward Leon Felcyn received All Catholic honorable mention.
