ZM eCASS 1979 OSOJCA ZSS ZHJS ysAnno ok zo zne A US AMS VACay CBJ9ZKAC SCHOOZ B00SZ8K eCUB We, the class of 1979, wish to dedicate this book to the AuSable Valley Central Booster Club in appreciation for the fine work they have done to provide us with our athletic pro- gram this year. With the defeat of our school budget last summer, these generous people have, through numerous fund raising projects and individual donations, taken on the huge task of spon- soring each one of our teams. In addition, the Booster Club has, in previous years, giv- en us our universal gym set, our sports banquets, and several other extra items that we have greatly enjoyed. Throughout the oncoming year, the club has planned several other money raising pro- jects, such as, selling t-shirts, and organizing a talent show. The considerable amount of work that these people have done for us will long be remembered and appreciated. 3 4 5 KVAD INTELLECTUAL READING LARRY, MOE, CURLY HUMBLE JOHN DETERMINATION PLUS 9 10 11 12 My name is Carina Theresia Pousette. I am 17 years old and from Sweden. I live in a suburb of Stockholm which is the capital of Sweden. The name of the town is Huddinge. The first idea I had to come over here was from a girl in my school from Washington. I started inquiring in October of 1977. I didn't know for sure if I would be accepted because only 300 could go and 600 ap- plied . When I arrived, there was quite a bit of confusion. After so many plane changes and the nervousness that goes along with it, I felt quite alone. When school started I didn't know anyone. It is very differ- ent from Swedish Schools. I enjoy the sports program and the entire school very much now. A year of school in the U. S. A. ? Old friends ask me why leave home? After the first school day I asked myself the same question. I was ready to take the first plane back home. The school seemed ter- rible to me then. My first im- pression was of a big building with too many classrooms. It was strange to be among 1500 people who spoke a language of which I understood only a lit- tle! It makes one feel quite lost. New for me was that the school tries to keep students in good physical shape. Why else would they give us only 3 min- utes to go (run) from one class to another? The open class- rooms were another thing I had to get used to. The only reason that I didn't leave after my first school day was that the school was full of nice, helpful people, and soon I became adjusted to my new school routine. I have been here for nearly 3 months, and my conclusion now is that the U. S. A. is a great country. I'm looking forward to my year here. 16 Cheri Addison. Everyday just gets a little shorter don't you think? Take a look around you. Can you see just what I mean? People got to come together, thats just how it feels. Where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go from here? How to find a better place. To see if its all the same. What you thought was a paradise. Its not just what it seems. The more I look around I find the more I have to fear. Where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go from here? Know its hard for you to change your way of life, know its hard for you to do. The world is full of people dying to be free. So if you don't want them there's no life for you no where from me. In time we'll get together, see, before it is too late. Forget about the path to love before your feelings fade away.
