It may seem they slowly melt away but suddenly one quiet afternoon you’ll think back to the old days”., and remember all the little things you really thought you had forgotten. All the good things, funny things, crazy things, it’ll all come back as old days” do. Thanks to these Men” we finally have a Student parking lot... Senior Class History Nineteen Hundred And Seventy — Six This Bi-Centennial year is a year to remember. Besides being the 200th anniversary of our country so much more will happen, for us, the class of Seventy - six. Most of us turn eighteen and will be able to vote in the forth comming Presidential Election. Some will go to college, others will be out on their own, either married or single. In 1968 the people of Keeseville and AuSable Forks school systems voted upon the merging of their schools. It was passed. Three years later, after all the major decisions, contraction was underway on our new school. In the fall of 1972 it was ready and waiting to be filled the the 1,200 students it was built for. In September of 1972 our class came together for the first time. In the beginning there was the nervousness and tension of meeting new people, going to a new school and most of all, starting our first year of high school. But, in the next few weeks there were many new friendships and the realization that every person was as nervous as the next. When we actually got together as a class we asked Mr. Kelley to be our advisor. We then elected class officers, they were: President — Sandy Gladu, V.P. — Agnes Patnode, Sec. — Denise Brelia, Treas. - Judy Meegan. During that year we raffled off a T.V. and a 10 speed bike. We also had a dance. In our Sophomore year, Mr. Kelley liked us so much he decided to stay with us another year. We elected Patricia Washburn as President, Mary Ellen Stanley as V.P., Laurie Finnegan as Sec., and Rita Stewart as Treas. That’s the year we made a lot of money. We raffled off a 10 speed bike (10 speeds were easy to raffle off) we also sold tootsie rolls and magazines. Sooner than we expected our Junior year was upon us. We didn’t have any fund raising projects but we did spend a lot of money on our rings and Jr. prom. We did take first prize 50 for our float in the Homecoming that year. Our class officers were President - Peggy Gload, V.P. - Agnes Patnode, Sec. - Laurie Finnegan and Treas. - David Sawyer. Mr. Houde was our advisor. The theme of our Jr. prom was Reflections of My Life.” It was held at the school. Royalty were: KING - Danny Hoey, QUEEN - Mary Ellen Stanley, PRINCE - Keith Smith, and PRINCESS - Denise Gordon. Everyone looked great and we all had a fun time. Now we are in our final year. Our advisors are Mr. Randall and Mr. Lawson. Class officers are President - Jody Edwards, V.P. - Marilee Ano, Sec. - Carolyn Stone, and Tres. - Julie Gray. We had one fund raising project this year which was selling candles. To spend money this year we ordered our senior pictures, our announcements, and had our Sr. ball. The Sr. Ball was held in Plattsburgh at the teamsters hall. The King was Keith Smith, Queen - Sandy Bean, Prince - Chuck Benoit, and Princess - Linda Hammond. The rest of the year will include the Sr. play, Sr. skip day, a lot of parties and finally graduation (unless they cancel it) All in all our four years here have been something we shall never forget.
