“
2 . this generation . . has had thrust upon it a greater burden of responsibility than any generation that has ever lived. R.F.K. In the fall of 1968, Ausable Forks Central School and Keeseville Central School merged. Operating in different buildings, separated by several miles we have experienced a revol- ution” in our school traditions, symbols, and loyalties. In the pages of this book the first senior class of Ausable Valley Central School has recorded the first chapter of what we hope will be a successful and happy future. 3 4 And they [the young] ask for an opportunity to contribute to man- kind and shape their own fate ... they lend greater urgency to a con- cern that all of us share: that our lives should make a difference to ourselves and our fellow man. Robert F. Kennedy 5 ... each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation. Robert F. Kennedy 7 V ft A V ( 7 Possibility must begin with dialogue which is more than the freedom to speak. It is the wil- lingness to listen, and to act. Robert F. Kennedy 9 10 12 Come My Friends Tis Not too Late to Seek a Newer World Tennyson Because of your real interest in and kindness to all of the students with whom you have come in contact during your long association with our school, we. The Class of 1969, dedicate this yearbook to you, J, Kermit Fitzgerald. In your capacity as Head Bus Driver, you have set a mar- velous example for loyal devotion to and exemplary performance of duty, have been extremely generous in all things and have shown rare understanding and disciplinary ability in dealing with students. Your whole life and work are a living proof that there can be pleasure and joy in the honest fulfillment of duty. You have set us an example which will help and encourage us in the years to come as we, too, go on to our jobs in life. We, The Class of 1969, are grateful to you. Dedication Dedication With sincere appreciation, the class of 1969 dedicate this yearbook to you, Mrs. Davey. You have guided us through our • s formative years in junior high school. We remember you in those years with love and respect for your dedication to each and every one of us. This is only a small way of telling you our deep feeling of gratitude for your forty years of service to the youth of this community. .14 District Principal and High School Principal MARGARET RYAN District Elementary Supervisor President JOSEPH E.
