The function of the orchestra is three-fold, Horace--namely-to sup- ply music for various school affairs, to become acquainted with or- chestra literature and to give pupils experience in group playing. The orchestra is used for class plays, style shows and special pro- grams such asare given at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Graduation, Columbus Day, Education Week, and at other events such as teas and receptions. The orchestra members are called upon to supply music for outside events, dinners, weddings, and concerts or programs other than school events. Adjoining communities call for the services of the Aurora orchestra for similar events. Hey! wake up Old Buddy . On the next page are our fellow col- leagues the chorus. F. T. A. 81 CHESS CLUB This, Horace, is the F.T.A. Club which was started only a few years ago and has become quite active. The members act as guides during Education Week and also work with the teachers for practical experience. The club has also started a scholarship for their members going into the education field. Below, Horace, is the Chess Club which was just started under the supervision of Mr. Warren Olson. The Club studies and plays chess as a form of recreation. Let's go see what the latest news is at the paper office, Horace!
