ROOM FOR ONE MORE was presented by the senior class. Poppy and Mother could never say no to a homeless child, no matter how hard it was to make ends meet. Their latest addition to the family was Janey, somewhat of a problem. She had an inferiority complex that was hard to get rid of. They had promised the Home to keep her for two weeks--and the day before she was to go back she still acted like a stranger--afraid to go into the water with the others--and almost afraid of her own shadow. Then Miss Winston, from the Home, came a day earlier to take Janey back to the Home with her. Janey didn't want to go back, so the rest of the children-- Joey, Trot, and Teensie--voted. They decided Janey could stay. Jimmy Johnwas the next newcomer. Jimmy John was not only a problem child but he wore braces on both legs. They decided to keep Jimmy John, too. But when Poppy died Mother had fi- nancial problems and decided to sell the Pumpkin Shell, their seaside cottage. Jimmy John heard of this and ran away because he thought it was his fault that she had to sell. However, the kids found him and brought him back. Mother had wonderful news to announce to her family--that a storyshe had written about Jimmy John had been sold to a movie company. Fortune had smiled on Pumpkin Shell, and they were one happy family again.
