1971 AURORA BOREALIS AURORA HIGH SCHOOL AURORA, INDIANA TABLE OF CONTENTS THEME 2 SENIORS 6 UNDERCLASSMEN 28 ACTIVITIES 48 ACADEMICS 82 ATHLETICS 100 ADVERTISEMENTS 131 TIME Time . . . that elusive element that seems to race by when it seems most precious, and drag along when one wishes it to pass. Man has calculated and measured time by various means, yet has found no way to control or preserve it. As the sands of the hour glass trickle away, so pass the mere four years spent in high school. Considered the time of one's life these years are filled with exciting ballgames, proms, plays, and many extracurricular activities which seem to fly by all too quickly only to be recorded as tender memories in the leaves of a year-book. Even the dreaded exams and drudgery of academic deadlines are remembered fondly. Just as relics of antiquity — sun dials and grandfather clocks — outlast the changing times, so do memories. Good times last forever and the bad just seem to fade away. TIME TAKES ALL ... 2 ... BUT MEMORIES 3 ■■ Precious time can't be wasted — especially for this bunch racing against time. There are some who have all the time in the world to ponder great thoughts. And as some spend time having fun, making friends . . . ... others work diligently at meeting deadlines. 5 As seniors, it seems as if one might consider something coming to an end. However, in reality, life for us is merely beginning. Like a butterfly, we have progressed from a mere egg, or infant being; and stretched and grown as larvae — trying new things, searching to find what we were inside. From the newly opened cocoons emerged butterflies, unsteady at first yet eager to achieve our goals. And, as we received our diplomas, we took wing and went our separate ways to discover we've only just begun. Class Officers: Pres. Randy McNeely, Treas. Larry Demaree, Sec. Cindy Greene, Vice-Pres. Mike Nisbet. With the addition of an official score keeper, Mr. Hudson, the boys' basketball was very intense. And as the final buzzer sounded, the Nameless were crowned champs. In girls' volleyball, entertainment was much more varied — until the dress code changed! As the battle-dust rose it was Debbie Giffin's team that reached the top.
