A New Age Dawns Prom Royalty, left to right:K. Henry, C. Davis, D. Withered, M. Busse, S. Spencer, D. Harrell, queen R. Cheek, king J. Thatcher, D. Miller, M. Nisbet, C. Greene, and M. Dicken. The 1970 junior class Prom began April 24 with introductions of the couples which continued until the George Kasper Orchestra began to play. Co-chairman of the Prom, Nancy Belew and Susan Dewers, carried out the theme of “Age of Aquarius” with a fountain that consisted of a water bearer emptying a pitcher into a silver pool. The walls were decorated with zodiac signs and star covered streamers hung from the ceiling. Everyone enjoyed the music which ranged from “Aquarius Let the Sun Shine In” to polkas to the bunny hop. Following the crowning of John Thatcher and Ruby Cheek as this year’s Prom royalty, couples boarded buses and proceeded to the Cincinnati Western Bowl for the Post Prom. After dancing, bowling, and shooting pool, the couples were served a buffet and then returned to Aurora. u The Seniors show how to make the best of a long evening.
