Class Hustory Of the twenty seven present members of the Class of 59 twenty one began the1r school llfe Hl Aurella September 2 1946 Th1s class was the Hrst krndergarten class 1n Aureha School The twenty one were Roger Anderson Theo Becker Harold Bezom, Jerry Bruce J' ack Clme Cleo Covell Joe Crapser Margaret Ann Dlse, Larry Fraser, Dav1d Hench Peggy ,Tahn Iamce Kmngh LaVerne Larson, Charles Lundqtust Lots Mohn Dan Mummert Ronme Nelson, Eugene Sclupper, Sandra Turner Robert Prngel and Colette Warrmer Durrng the yearSh1r1eyJ' ones jomed us from Alta The Flrst teacher to try to teach the Class of 59 somethlng was Mrs Ruby When we entered first grade we were greeted by M1ss Coburn our teacher Durmg our fxrst grade year LaVerne Larson left us Dunng our second grade year we had our fun but we lost Colette Warrmer and Charles Lundqu1st Our teacher th1s year was M1ss Ohlson We en-poyed our tlnrd grade year w1th a great deal of help from M1ss Nlebuhr Durmg the year we LaVerne Larson came back to Aurelra to stay durmg our fourth grade year Durmg thxs year we had M1ss Allen who, durmg the year, became Mrs Sulle Flfth grade was taught by Mrs Hlckey From Cherokee we welcomed Charles Lundqu1st back to Aureha We also lost Roger Anderson. Beverly Otto and RodneyMorton came to Aurelia durmg our sixth grade M1ss Bartley was our teacher through the year In 1953 we moved up the ladder and entered the strange world of junior h1gh Our seventh grade year was filled ln gettmg lnto the routme of movmg from room to room for classes and havmg assembly Elglih grade brought us ,Toe Grause, returned Colette Warrlner to us, and lost us Sh1rley Jones On a fall mornmg U1 1955 a group of quaking freshmen entered the A.H.S Assembly Durmg our Hrst week we got r1d of our nervousness and m1t1at1on Mahlon St1ef and Shirley Jones came to Aureha to Jom our noble number Dav1d Ford entered our class in our sophomore year Our ,Tumor Class pro1ects Magazme sales, Juruor Semor Banquet and Prom and Jumor Class Play were all, ln our eyes, great successes Roger Anderson was finally lured back to good old A l-l.S in our Senlor year The Grand Twenty seven of 59' are now on the thresh hold of the world and now that we have looked back on our scnool years, we all regret leavmg A H.S Sponsored by CARLSON LIVESTOCK CO ECLIPSE LUMBER CO. Aurelra has replaced Parts as the headquarters of styles and here comes the grrls who drd rt. Colette Warrrner the world s most famous dress desrgner and her model, the glamorous Shrrley ,T ones Wrth them are Jan Kintrgh and Cleo Covell These grrls are co partners of the fashronable beauty salon here rn the heart of Aurelia Next to arrrve were the members of the class who are now on the faculty of the Uruversrty of Aurelra They are Theo Becker, the Dean of the world renown college Margaret Drse aCommerc1alInstructor and the playboy professor of mathematics Larry Fraser, world known for hrs skrll wrth figures Academy Award wrnner, Beverly Otto and her agent, Mahlon Stref were the next to arrrve Dave Ford the head rnterpreter for the Unrted Natrons arrrved next. Dave speaks fifty languages and advrses delegates on rrnportant rssues we returned to the group that Joe Grause was entertarnrng and found our four Nobel Prrze wrnners J' ack Chne, Davrd Hench, Dr Chuck Lundquist, and Lors Mohn. Jack Clrne was the first man to produce lrfe rn a test tube Davrd Hench was the first man, not only to splrt the atom but to glue rt back together agarn. Dr Lundqtust and hrs nurse, Lors Mohn, were rewarded for therr astonrshrng brarn operatron. Next to arrrve was that Dean of Jazzmen and leader of Rod s Rhythm Rockers Rodney Morton, Danny Mrunmert was the next to make an appearance You have all heard of the sports car drrver who has won the Le Mars Road Race for the past ten years? That drrver rs our former classmate, Danny Drrect from a meetrng of the Jornt Chrefs of staff come Aurelra's mrhtary men Harold Bezom, Adrnrral of the Fleet and an Annapolrs graduate and Four Star General, Joe Crapser who went on from Aureha to become top of hrs class at West Pornt Then from out of space there was a roar of rocket motors and through the door walked Jerry Bruce and Bob Prngel, the world s leading space experts and drscoverers of the planet, Aurelrus named after therr home town of Aurelra 'l'he edrtor, busy wrrting the news for the Assocrated Press had Just drscovered that two members of the class were mrssrng when rn walked Peggy ,Tahn and Sandra Turner co owners of the natron wrde charn of drrve rns They rnvrted the entrre class over to the Aurelra branch of Turner and Jahns Turn ln' for a fifty nrner specral.
