It is always difficult to por- tray properly the spirit of a school, for spirit is something that camera cannot frame nor walls of words contain. Therefore, we follow a curriculum which has all the advantages of a mod- em secular education coupled with Re- ligion, the Soul of true Wisdom which can never lead to error. This combina- tion of the material with the spiritual prepares students to play their roles as Christian citizens of two worlds--the City of God and the City of Man. Directing this pleasant performance of school life are the Augustinian Fathers and the Sisters of St. joseph who, repre- senting almost a complete cross- section of all branches of leaming, impart know- ledge in such a manner that it becomes a way of life. The friendly pupil-teacher relation- ship bespeaks the unity in a system where kindness, zeal and Christian truth are paramount. This is why Augustin- ian Academy is to us the best school on earth. I-IETHER amid the turning leaves of September, or when covered with the whiteness of a january snow, or while re- joicing in the splendor of May- time, Augustinian Academy is ever the center of activity - a seasonal round of good times. The spirit which enlivens us through our participation in extra- curricular life, is something to be cherished, something which we, who are soon to be graduated, can take with us - something that will keep alive for many years to come, the memory of our high school days. Throughout our school years we have learned that the most en- joyment comes from doing things together. And now as we glance back over the share we have had in sports, in dramatics, in organ- izations, or in the friendly gaiety of dances and parties - we realize as never before that they symbo- lize something that has become a genuine part of our lives, never to be forgotten. We are grateful to Augustinian Academy for these many opportu- nities for stimulated competition, warm comradeship, and healthful recreation. They have helped us to grow up: they have widened our interestsg they have given us con- fidence and poise.
