Lives? Vikings Romp 41-7 over Elmhurst In the homecoming game, the Vie kings found the road to victory easy, rolling over the Elmhurst Bluejays. Behind the five touchdown effort of running back Gregg Yemm, Au- gustana crushed Elmhurst 41-7 to highlight homecoming weekend. The Viking offense ran for 350 yards on the ground, 160 of which were tallied by Yemm. Another 87 yards were accounted for in the air with Quarterbacks Butch Necas- rm and John Stockton completing seven of eight passes. Scoring on their first four pos- sessions, the Viking offense con- tinued to bewilder the Elmhurst de- fense for the rest of the game. The defense held the Bluejays to a sin- gle teuchdown, smothering the Elmhurst offense. The success of the game can be credited to the su- perb ball control of the offense and the swarming defense. , N n, r K ani Encouraging the fans to yell their loudw est, cheerleader Deb Loose recognizes the defense's outstanding series. What would a game be without the band? Quiet! Homecoming 31
