Looking back, it's been an exciting year for all of us but it could have turned into a nighmare for Mary Ann and I if it had not been for many generous and helpful indi- viduals who we owe a world of thanks: MR. M. L. GARDNER and the AMERICAN YEAR- BOOK COMPANY for their co-operation and patience fmm deadline lo deadline. JOHN ADOLPHI, professional photographer of almost all the yearbook pictures, for putting up with our last min- ute lcreative ideas' and still managing to get the pictures in on time. PERRY MASON for finding pictures for us of the events We forgot to co ver. MR. STELLING and MR. NEWQUIST, yearbook advi- sors, for the confidence and ttust they gave us in all year- book decisions. MARY ANN HERROLD, co-editor, always there re- minding me we have a deadline and somehow always keep- ing things on schedule A terrific staff who were always them ready to help and, without them, the yearbook would nevar have gotten off the ground. And, to the people of Augustana, an added thanks For your co-operation and as- sistance in making FOCUS 1972. the memory book it is today. Karen Johnson Rockety-I Co-Editor To focus, enlarge, pinpoint, and magnify the happenings at Augustana College 1971-72 was the goal of this year's Rockety-I. It-felt the best way to achieve this aim was to isolate each aspect of Augie life into individual booklets. I wanted you to decide which events you feel closest to and remember most vividly, whether it be academic, students, organizations, sports, or special events . I feel Focus is primarily a memory book, not only because of the people and places pictured in it, but also because of its unique and different form. Al- though Kj, I, and our staff were blessed with many sleepless nights, we couldn't have finished Focus without the infinite patience of our American Year- book consultant, Mike Gardner, and the creative ideas and photographs of John Adolphi of Adolphi Studios, Moline, Illinois. Watching Focus 1972 grow into a complete book was an experience I will long remember and I hope Focus will recall fond memories for you! Mary Ann Herrold o . a Co-editor, Focus 1972 e $5352 JAMES C.
