Spirits universally high . . . amphitheatre packed. Cheering . . . biggest bonfire anyone can remember . . . cheerleaders and band silhouetted against the blaze. Snake dance . . . through the library . . . amphitheatre again . . A fraternity rope pull, BOS the winner. Friday - bright, crisp . . . Homecoming badges . . . Carlsson Hall's ship. Coronation night . . . arriving friends and family . . . dimmed lights . . . proud parents. Vi-royalty - Kris and George. A salute from the President. A Homecoming address by Phil Hougen. Fratemity-Sorority sing contest. t . COGS and GABhs take the honors Back to the dorms . . . blue jeans, slacks and sweatshirts . . . somebody bring a guitar? Lefs go! On to the floats. Acres of chicken wire, bushels of tissue, Spray paint. Twist and stuff . . . twist and stuff . . . midnight Saturday - twist and stuff . . . singing, joking . A . work, everybody work! 3 AM already! Twist and stuff. Back to the dorms for a few houa's hsleep. 6 AM - back to work, almost time. The impossible accomplished , . . 9:45 AM, floats ready in place . . . change clothes . . . the parade. The crowds A . . yatd-high letters across Old Main lawn. C003 and PHI HHUS, POP's and PUGS victorious. Hurry and eat. Game time! Mums . . . souvenir programs . . . half-time show . . . crowd in a winning mood. The Valiant Vikings hard-fought 17-13 victory over Carrollhs Pioneers. Alum and student fans proud . . . players tired. Sunday - Dr. Bergendoff. Moved by the death of Randy Strombom. The day is bright, but somehow the sun seems to be shining from under a pall. Just yesterday we were so happy. Sorrow in the midst of gaity . . . a paradox. This was Homecoming W34. Memories, as varigated as the float remnants scattered over the campus.
