45-h Choir tour this year took Mr. Veld and his seventy sing- ers through eight states and more than twelve concerts. The choir set up their risers in everything from small churches to chccrt halls. Nu performance was the same, but reactions of audiences and critics were consistent, with comments ranging from outstanding, excellentu to t'su- perb? The concerts were most important, but as any choir member will testify, the trip itself was an unforgettable i experience. After the buses pulled away from W. B. amid I a hail of snowballs and shouted gaud-bycs, Hookh and Brownie headed them north into the deeper snow of I upper Michigan. A short jaunt through Canada and a ride i of eight hours brought them in late for the Jamc5t0wn concert. They rehearsed, dressed, and ate in one hour. Later in Kentucky and Tennessee, the Augieites got a taste of warm weather and Southern hospitality. Oak Ridge was memorable, one of the best canccrts of the tour. For each member individually, there are experiences which cannot really be described, but many of them the whole choir, and ultimately a large proportion of the school, remember long after the tour is over, As always, things were left behind ;Mr. Veldhs suitcase, Luie's choir gown. The people they met ranged from millionaires to middle class and from an actress on one occasion to a Parrot on another. With everything they saw and did, though, it was an excited gmup of people that poured out of the buses after the tour was over-full of things to tell and happy to be home?
