Since the 32 Rockety-l has been changed in several ways, there were new things to be learned and some experimenting to be done. Although the t'nerve center was the little room on the third hoot of Sru-U, putting out an annual is a campus: wide activity. Prisctically every student and faculty member was contacted during the tussle with the picture Schedule and the crusade for copy. Mem- bers of the business staff became familiar to Quad- City merchants as they went out after ads. During the months of work that went into the Rockety-I there were both light moments and ser- ious ones. There were the red-pencilled deadlines h- not always met g sessions with the slide-rule on layout, and last minute sieges at the typewriter. The noihce was cohi in the winter, hot in. spring, and the slow change in the weather was reflected in the succession of coffee cups, then coke homes, then popsickle wrappers that collected by the door. In fact, When in doubt, eat bemme a staff motto. A few late night sessions finished up the last fold- ersf' and at least once the staff members watched the sun rise from the third Hour Hretescape. Con- trary to tumor, the annual came out. 25
