iliurlzyzy-jl, Hill Eoretuorh The ROCKETY-I, 1.912, comes to you Deming the record of a yem-ls schoul life at Augustena. It was not without some foreboding that we sent it on its way and we hope that the book comes up tr; yem' anticipation. All Augustaha men are net alike. But although their aims, their thoughts, their dreams, thei'r ambitions be dif- ferent they are united 2erer one thing and that is Augustinian. In the serious sem, the rl-ignih'ezl senim', the impulsive mph, the buoyant prep, the swaggerioig commercial man ceml the bright, merry eyed musical student we have em- ewwlifled the difev e-nt ingredients which go to make Augus- tmm. Then yrm me not sm'pi'ised that we are rlijferent. The ROCKETY-I is a presentation of the drama of col- lege life with all its little ironies, its many pleasuntries, its hard knocks and successes. To anyone who has not forgot- ten his college days these pages will while away a. pleasant hour. They will bring to mind 0, picture when the heart was light and the troubles many, when the sweetest pleas- m-es- of life were enjoyed, and yet there was much to endm'e and suffer of privation, worry, and tail. These days of bubbling and enthusiastic youth, whose future spells only success um! fortune, are ever the same. If the ROCKETY-I does not please you in every instance, remember that it was also written for the other fellow. He has also played a part in the school life here and this E1001; is meant to depict him as well as you. Take this into consideration, kind reader. Now to all who will med these pages, be :1: am- worthy teachers, who here so wisely guided us on our journeys way, our fellow students, with whom we have associated these years, or our alumni and friends, who have been such important factors in the realization of that greater Augustmm , we extend a hearty greeting cmcl with it a hope that a perusal of this book will not be time ill-apent, but that it will serve to further your a,bvection and enthusi- asm for Augltstmla.
