1942 BERRY, WILLIAM “Bill, a third year cadet, was off to a slow start, but this year he made quite a showing of himself. His work as a member of the Honor Committee was fair and just. His record as a swimmer was enviable. Last but not least, was his outstanding football performance as a begin- ner on the varsity team. Good-by and good luck. CORT, JOHN “John,” ex-John Powers model, has made many girls swoon at his glance. His leadership in the band was outstanding. We know we have been bidding adieu to a “killer.” DEAN, DONALD “Duck” came here four ago as a mere duck- ling, and is leaving quite a grown man; that is his past. His future holds many bright moments. Industrious and witty, we bid farewell to Donald Dean.

SENTFORS ALPER, MORTEN a “Abeie” is a good natured fellow of pleasing personality whom we ail expect great things from. His fine showing in football and his great boxing season have helped to make “Abe” a popular barracks gentleman. If Wytheville is on the map, he helped put it there. BEAM, GEORGE “George” in his three years at Augusta has piled up more honors than any other cadet in a similar period of time. His ready wit, and good looks will insure success in any field he may | Pp AN chose, As an officer, gentleman, a friend and a | he! leader, he will be remembered for a lifetime. BEARD, RUTLAND “Limey,” during his two years’ stay with us has staunchly upheld the British virtue of thor- oughness. He is a friend you can always depend upon, so to a fine student with a good-natured smile, we sorrowfully bid him ‘“Tally-ho.”

SENIORS EVANS, WILLIAM “Will” became one of the most popular cadets in his three years at Augusta. He is by far the best-natured boy we’ve ever met. His patriotic enrollment in the United States Air Force will always be remembered at A.M.A. Happy land- ings, Will—we recognize a future officer when we see one, FOX, PETE Not much can be said about such a quiet boy as Pete, but those that know him best have found his sterling loyalty undiminished. As a “B” Com- pany corporal he did a fine job and we are sorry to see him depart from old Augusta. FURBER, GEORGE P. George, with his Boston accent and Yankee habits, will long be remembered as an honor stu- dent. We wish him great success at Harvard next fall. Good material will never go to waste. -
