I . . .V f I Q Qfdttafzg While we were waiting for the school bus one morning, we were surprised to see a Gypsy caravan rounding the curve It stopped and Miss Tarr asked our group of LO if we would like to ride to Augusta Hi This school is located between two rivers, St1llfork and Muddy Fork On our way we made several stops and added Waneta Chance and Betty Gallaer to our group As we were crossing a stream, we lost the following travelers Paul Davis, Gail Adkins, Barbara Roach, Kay Biggins, Harold Pennock and Twila Amon To handle any business matters we might have on th1s educatlonal trip, we appointed Nellie Moser to act as councelor with B111 Offenberger to assist her, Charles Wright to keep our minutes and mot1ons, and Frances Marteney to care for our financial affairs As we gathered around the camp fire, we listened to the activities in which we took part such as the roller skating party, a Christmas party, St Patrick' Day dinner and the novel initiation The boys of the clan told of the basketball days with Dale Harsh as a cheerleader After a brief vacat1on during which Miss Tarr became Mrs Herrington, we journled on with Mrs Herrington as our driver once more We started with 30 members in our clan Nellie Moser was appointed councelor with Dorothy Gause to assist her Charles Wright kept the minutes and motions, and Mary Gruber handled the financial affairs During this time we sponsored a dance, served for the Junior Senior Banquet, and with Mrs Herrington directing, we produced our play, 'Our Gal Sal W Along the way we lost Dorothy Partlow and Jack Lanning The boys told us of winning the clan tournament As we started our next journey with 28 members, Mrs Howlett was the driver of our wagon During this trip we lost Phyllis and Joan Lanning, Betty Gallaer, Mary Alice Ridgewa and V1rg1l Hawkins Nellie Moser was appointed councelor with Mary ruber to assist her the financial affairs We sponsored a play, 'For Pete's Sake, gave the Junior Senior Banquet and Prom to honor the seniors Seven boys played on the football squad and eight on the basketball team during this year's journey With Mrs Howlett still guiding us, our last year of travel began with Zh eager gypsies traveling toward success One new member, George Betts, and a loss of Deloris Lautzenheiser, Jeanie Bau and Larry Hagan marked this year Nell1e Moser was again our counselor with Dale Harsh ass1sting, Dick Mills recorded the minutes and motions, and Mary Gruber handled the financial affairs sponsored a clan play 'The Scarecrow Creeps,' sold candy, hot dogs Christmas cards stationery and magazine subscriptions to earn money so we cou d go to see our Capital Our clan motto 18 'We bu1ld the ladder by which we rise ' Our clan colors are Red and white with a Red Carnat1on as the flower The juniors honored us with a Junior Senior Banquet and prom on May 5 Baccalaureate Service was held on May 20 Commencement was on the 2Lth of May at the Augusta High School Our clan then enjoyed an exciting tr1p to Washington D C I3 I . s Frances Marteney to keep the minutes, and Charles wright to handle , .
