Hendrick, :lk --121, .+ve ,xx JI 59 Dedication We, the Seniors of 1959, dedicate this annual to Mr. C. W. Gustafson. Perhaps in this small way we can show our thanks for his twenty-seven years of devotion to the Augusta School System, as teacher and principal. Each of us is put upon this earth for some constructive purpose. But many of us never find the proper place for which we are best fitted. Mr, Gus, as he is affectionately called, has devoted his life to guiding and v instructing others so that they may more easily find their proper places . It was his insight and knowledge of young people that helped many when they were in need of understanding. His devotion to young people of Augusta is illustrated not only by the personal help he gives to each, but by the fact that his interest in the student continues for many years after the student's graduation. Many hundreds of students have gone on from Augusta High School to make their marks in the world. For many of them inspiration came from the kindliness and patience of Mr. Gus. Any community is measured by its school system and Augusta's is rated as one of the best. This rating does not just happen. The efforts of Mr. Gus have been a major factor in bringing about this standing . Because of his influence in our community and in the lives of individual students, we feel that our appreciation of Mr. Gustafson may best be summed up in the words of David Hume who said--- The sweetest path of life leads through the avenue of learning, and whoever can open up the way for another, ought, so far, to be esteemed as a benefactor of mankind. ,f Qin P '-sq.. , .Q-4 wr YKYZZV - 4.
