Citizenship A is awarded to one boy and one girl from each class every year. Ten students of each class are nominated and rated by their class on general reliability, happiness, dress and care of person, attitude toward work, wholesomeness, courtesy, sociability, self control, attitude toward others, leadership, and attitude towards authority. The Student Council is the governing body of Augusta High. The organization is composed of four officers, elected by the student body the preceding year, and one representative from each homeroom. Honorary members are the presidents of Hi-Y, Y-teen, Pep Club, and the four classes. A written report of the Student Council meetings were made to homerooms each week. Our song, the Alma Mater was adopted this year. The district Conference for Student Government was also held here for the second year. A social event is sponsored each month by the Student Council to raise funds for the support of Polynexi Alexopoulos, a Greek Orphan, and for their other projects.
